- Pathogenesis
of vascular dysregulation in diabetic retinopathy
Currently
engaged in research into the causative factors relating to the pathogenesis
of vascular dysregulation in diabetic retinopathy. Utilizing a recently
developed transcapillary co-culture system for culturing vascular
endothelial cells under physiological levels of hemodynamic shear
stress, we are investigating the effect that hyperglycemia has on
cultured retinal endothelial cells and pericytes at the molecular
level.
