Research Interests

  • Tissue engineering: Bone and vascular tissue replacement technology
  • Vascular remodeling: The role of hemodynamic forces (shear stress and pulse pressure) associated with the flow of blood on smooth muscle cell proliferation, migration, differentiation and apoptosis
  • Endothelial control of vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and migration: The role of mitogen activated protein kinase regulation of uPA and MMP gene expression
  • The cardioprotective effects of alcohol on smooth muscle cell migration and proliferation
  • The vasculopathy of portal hypertension: A role for mechanical force induced changes in endothelial nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase gene expression
