Teaching:

In the current academic year (2007/08), I teach Press & Public Relations to final year students of the BA in Communications Studies; and Public Relations: Issues & Principles to postgraduate students on the MA in Political & Public Communication and the MSc in Science Communication. Coincidentally, this year, I also teach Professional Communication Skills to these students.

As part of the new MSc in Emergency Management, provided by the DCU Business School, I have developed, and will deliver, a module in Crisis Communications.

Within the School of Communications, I teach Enterprise Development for Media Professionals to the final year group in the B.Sc. in Multimedia.

2007/08 is my eleventh year delivering a course in Media Technology to several undergraduate programmes, including the B.A. in Communications Studies, the B.A. in Journalism, the BA in Contemporary Culture & Society; the BA Gaelige & Irisiorireacht – provided by Fiontar; and the BA in Marketing, Innovation & Technology – provided by the DCU Business School.

I also provide the Communication Skills element for MBA students at the DCUBS Centre for Executive Programmes.

Previous teaching assignments have included modules on publication design, online journalism, feature writing and multimedia practice as well as a module in business communications for DCU’s School of Computing.
