Welcome to my website!
I am a Lecturer in Government at the School
of Law and Government and Director of the Centre for International
Studies at Dublin City University. My research focuses on the
political economy of legislative organization and in particular on how
electoral incentives shape representatives’ preferences, the internal
structures of parliaments, executive oversight and the production of
public policy. I maintain a strong interest in Irish politics and
sit on the Editorial Board of Irish
Political Studies.
I hold a BA in
Political Science from Trinity College Dublin and an MBS and PhD from
Dublin City University (Business School). I have taught at the
University of California, San Diego and the Pennsylvania State
University and held a Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Research
Fellowship at Trinity College Dublin.
I currently
serves as Co-Convenor of the ECPR Standing Group on Parliaments and was
founding Co-Director of the European Summer School on Parliaments and
am a member of the Editorial Board of Legisaltive
Studies Quarterly (2012-15).
I received the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching and
Learning at DCU and am currently President of the DCU Comedy Society.
