The Mechanical Engineering Workshop has a range of equipment,
from manually operated, to CNC (computer numeric control) milling machines and Lathes.
We have a Surface grinder and an EDM (electro die-sinking
machine).
We also have a limited facility for light sheet metal
fabrication
Our primary activity is to provide technical assistance to the
Mechanical Engineering department,
This assistance takes the form of help with design and
manufacture of mechanical components and equipment.
As a secondary activity we provide the same assistance to other
departments within the University
