Ambush at Kildorrey
The attack was carried out by Castletownroche Battalion Cork No. 2 Brigade (under Thomas Barry who was Battalion O/C and Battalion Column commander) and East Limerick Brigade Column (led by Donnchadh O’Hannigan). One Black and Tan (Constable Ernest Watkins) was killed and five wounded and six rifles captured by the attackers.
