M.Sc. Education and Training Management (e-learning)
PAC Application code DC901 (one year full-time)

The School of Education Studies, Dublin City University, offers a one year full time and a two year part-time M. Sc. in Education and Training Management (e-learning). Programme participants are drawn from a range of backgrounds: education, industry, nursing, government departments and community sector.

ICT has assumed an increasingly important role in society in the way people communicate with each other, and in the way in which organizations successfully operate. It is important that educators take account of technological developments as they seek to improve student learning and teaching experiences. To enable practitioners to play a leadership role in the design, development, integration and evaluation of ICT certain needs must be addressed over and above the provision of ICT training.

This innovative M.Sc. programme aims to address these needs.

These include:
  • a greater awareness of the potential of ICT to make new and better methods of teaching and learning available;
  • developing new and appropriate knowledge and skills in the use of ICT to improve teaching and learning;
  • greater awareness of the ways ICT affects the ways we think about, organize and practice teaching and learning.

    The programme builds on the work of the National Centre for Technology in Education (NCTE). Teachers who have completed Phase 1 and 2 NCTE IT Training courses will be given exemption from one of the Masters modules.

    This innovative programme is being offered through blended classroom and online activities.
