  What is the night life like in DCU?

DCU Students Union run many events in each week during the semester so there are many options when your looking for social events on campus. Students also go in to the city centre and other areas of Dublin for social aspects.

What is the food like on campus and is it expensive? 

There are several restaurants and cafes on the Glasnevin/ St Patricks campus which serve hot and cold food and have meal deals for students. Generally you will get a hot meal for €5. You also have a Spar and Pharmacy on the Glasnevin campus also. 

 If im studying on the St Patricks campus can I use the library and sports centre on the Glasenvin campus?

Yes, all facilities such as sports and accomondation are open for all DCU students to avail of. 

  What is the VIP Fresher about - and how do I apply?

The VIP Fresher is a competition open to all incoming first year students applying via the CAO. All you have to do is make a 2 minute video clip or make a photo collage telling us: your name, your school and why you want to be the VIP fresher and send the video/collage to us at studenthelp@dcu.ie before the deadline of July 1st. The best video or collage could win a number of great prizes including: Free accommodation on campus, free food on campus at the spar shop and canteen, free gym membership, free car parking, free domino pizza and much much more. Please note that all prizes are for your first year on campus only (Dont worry we dont show anyone apart from the judges your video/collage). Click here for all information. 

  Is there sports that I can play in DCU and what sort of clubs and societies can I get involved in? 

In DCU we have over 120 different clubs and societies. You can join as many as you like if you have an interest in them. We have sports pitch's which are floodlit (both astro and grass), an athletics running track (and other athletics facilities), a 25 metre pool and sports centre, an indoor sports arena, as well as squash and racket ball courts... You are more than welcome to come to campus and get a tour of these facilities if you contact studenthelp@dcu.ie
