Donna is a lecturer in Early Childhood Education on the B.Ed programme at the DCU Institute of Education, St. Patrick's Campus. In 2012, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership with NUI Maynooth. Since 2012, Donna has worked on the design and delivery of continuing professional development (CPD) courses for in-service teachers on Aistear: the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA). In 2014, Donna trained as a mentor for newly qualified teachers (NQTs) with the National Induction Programme for Teachers (NIPT). Most recently, she completed her Master of Education, specialising in Early Childhood Education, at St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra (2016). Before joining the DCU Institute of Education, Donna worked as a primary school teacher for 12 years. Her research and teaching interests include play as a teaching and learning methodology, early childhood mathematics education and child participation in the early years.
