Tish Balfe spent many years working as a mainstream and special (autism) class teacher in an all boys’ primary school and is currently is a staff member of DCU,:School of Inclusive and Special Education, St. Patrick's Campus, Drumcondra. She is programme chair of the Graduate Certificate in the Education of Pupils on the Autism Spectrum and teaches across a range of university programmes on various topics relating to autism. She has a Master’s degree in Education with a focus on autism from Birmingham University and is currently studying for Doctorate in Special Education at DCU. Her current research interests include professional development for school staff, adult child interactions in special classes and educational provision for students on the autism spectrum.
