Aoife Brennan (BEd, PGDip Leadership in Education, PGDip Special Education, MEd, EdD) is a lecturer in the School of Inclusive and Special Education. She previously worked as a primary teacher in a variety of mainstream classes and as a learning support/resource teacher. Prior to this appointment, Aoife was seconded as an advisor to the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST). Within this role she supported primary teachers and principals in the area of literacy including learning support and co-teaching.
Aoife's doctoral research focused on exploring the impact of a professional learning community on teacher learning for inclusive practice. Other research interests include supporting the enactment of inclusive pedagogy across the continuum of teacher education, leadership for inclusive schools and developing collaborative practice for inclusion.
