The 1838 Club is situated in Albert College on the DCU Glasnevin Campus and was beautifully restored in 2002 with an appealing mix of tradition and modernity. It comprises of the following:
- The Seed Room
- Staff Dining Room
- The Long Room
- The Lounge
The Seed Room
This is a common area for staff to sit back and relax, read or catch up with colleagues. The room is furnished with couches and low tables.
Other Purposes: The Seed Room is used for events and can comfortably accommodate 60 people standing with a lectern and or audio visual equipment.
The Staff Dining Room
Staff Dining Room is on the ground floor of the 1838 club. It seats up 120 at anyone sitting. The Dining Room is opened between 9.30am - 3.00pm Monday to Friday. It is a Self Service Facility providing hot and cold beverages, hot lunches, salad and sandwich bar.
Other Purposes: The Dining Room can be used for Banquet Dinners or Finger Food Receptions in the Evenings. Seating capacity: 100. Standing: 170
The Long Room
The Long Room is on the first floor of the 1838 club. Lunch is served from 12.00pm - 2.00pm. Later lunches can be arranged on request. The Long Room offers table service only and the Menu can be viewed via the link on this page. The Room can seat up to 130 at a time.
Other Purposes: The Long Room is available for Breakfast Meetings, Dinners and Receptions. Seating Capacity: 130 Standing: 170
The Lounge is on the first floor of the 1838 Club and has a connecting door to the Long Room. It is furnished with couches and low tables and is used as an ante room to the Dining Area. Perfect for pre- dinner drinks and can easily accommodate 70 people at a time.
Other Purposes: Popular venue for Receptions and Meetings.
